About the Space
This is a traditional island house located on the island of Nisyros; famous for it’s volcano, good food and great walks.
The space
This lovely stone house offers beautiful views of Nisyros Island. It is situated right underneath the ancient fortress and the monastery of Panagia Spiliani. It is located right next to old ruins sitting above the terrace. From the roof top terrace you have beautiful sea glimpses, views of Kos Island, three more islands and the Turkish coast!
Nisyros 2 is located in Mandraki, the main village on the island of Nisyros; one of the last true Greek islands left.
It is a very beautiful and spacious house with 3 bedrooms (2 with air conditioning), a fully equipped kitchen, dining for 6 and a sitting area – all with a/c. There are 2 bathrooms and a roof terrace with shade sail, table and chairs. There are 2 king size beds in 2 of the bedrooms (one can be split to singles), as well as two single beds in the 3 bedroom, that can be joined to form a 3rd king size bed. There is WiFi throughout the house. All is within walking distance; sea, tavernas, restaurants.
NISYROS GENERAL INFO
Nisyros or Nisyros, a small island in the middle of the Dodecanese complex, has lots of natural beauties and a rich cultural heritage whose inhabitants maintain alive up to day.
The geomorphologic feature most characteristic of the island is its volcano. It is said that Nisyros was born after a series of successive eruptions of the volcano, which is unique of its kind in Greece. The volcano and the serenity that one experiences in the picturesque villages of Nisyros Island are two of its main attractions that will truly captivate you.
Lastly, the island has a very rich fauna and flora that specialists have pronounced to be unique.
The capital of Nisyros is Mandraki (where our house is located) which boasts, whitewashed houses, colourful narrow lanes and the beautiful piazza “Ilikiomeni” (the old woman’s piazza) which is shaded by large trees.
NISYROS BEACHES
Near our Nisyros house there are two beaches: Cochlaki with rounded, black pebbles and sandy Mandraki beach both can be reached in 5 minutes walk.
Other beaches are: Pali, Pahia Ammos (a little difficult to access but definitely worth it), and White Beach. Anywhere you go the waters are guaranteed to be crystal clear!
TRANSPORT (Please check with us for updates on transport)
There are ferries to many islands such as Kos, Kalymnos, Tilos, Symi, Rhodes, Santorini, Astypalaia, Leros, Patmos, Symi and Paros.
There is a hydrofoil that has almost daily connections with Rhodes and variable services to Kos, Kalymnos and Symi.
